Dear friends and supporters,
Islington is running two consultations on schemes that align with our aims of reducing traffic, improving road safety, and creating healthier, more liveable neighbourhoods.
Even a short response expressing support makes a real difference, especially when positive voices are heard clearly.
We are broadly supportive of both schemes and would strongly encourage you to take a few minutes to respond and register your support.
1. Market Road Improvements (deadline: Sunday 8 March)
The council is proposing improvements to Market Road aimed at creating a safer and more people-friendly environment. The plans include measures to reduce traffic dominance, improve conditions for walking and cycling, and enhance the public realm.
You can read more and respond here. One more drop-in event is happening on 3 March.
2. St Mary’s Church Area Projects (deadline: Tuesday 24 March 2026)
Proposals around St Mary’s Church focus on improving the space around the church and surrounding streets, with changes designed to calm traffic, improve safety, and make the area more pleasant for residents, visitors, and those attending the church and nearby shops and amenities.
Find out more and share your views here. Drop-in events take place on 11 March.
Since you support safer, greener, more community-focused streets, please consider responding.
With thanks,
Barnsbury & Laycock Community Streets
